Volunteer Job Descriptions
- NO SHOWS WILL IMMEDIATELY BE CHARGED $75
- Clean Up (Home Meets Only) Female & Male Shifts for restroom duties. Keep deck clean and clear of litter. Keeps bathrooms stocked and clean. Remove trash from trash cans on deck and in bathrooms. All shifts are responsible for taking trash to the dumpster, re-lining all trash bins, and restocking bathrooms. Check in with Office for keys to bathroom. 2 shifts Male & Female
- Computer Input (Home Meets Only) Manage the timing system database, entering each swimmer's time. All Day
- Floater (Home & Away) Must be flexible to fill in for any job that hasn't been filled. Covers anyone who needs break on deck. Helps clean up around deck. 2 shifts
- Hospitality (Home Meets Only) Provides water to all on-deck volunteers, coaches, and officials. Checks in with Snack Bar. 2 shifts
- Lane Lineup 5-8 yr old swimmers (Home & Away) Helps coaches gather, organize, and manage 8 & under swimmers before their races. You must stay with the line. 2 shifts Volunteer Job is only for Parents with Swimmers Ages 8 and Under.
- Lane Slip Runner (Home Meets Only) Pulls slips from Lane Writer and delivers them to the scoring table. Remains on deck during shift. 2 shifts
- Lane Writer (Home & Away) Assigned to Penguins Lanes Only. Record times for each race on lane slip .Makes sure the correct swimmer receives credit for correct race. Remains on deck during shift. 2 shifts
- Lane Timers (Home & Away) Assigned to specific lanes and times each event; two timers in opponents lane and one-timer in Penguins Lane. 2 shifts
- Meet Announcer (Home Meets Only) Announces events and heats during the meet. Plays appropriate music from personal device via Bluetooth before the meet, during breaks, and races. All Day
- Meet Coordinator (Home & Away) Keeps the meet running smoothly. Checks in with every department. Must be able to delegate, take notes, work well with others, make sure volunteers are doing their job, etc. Training session during Intrasquads. ALL DAY
- Meet Set-Up Coordinator (Home Meets Only) Starts at 6 AM. Checks in and Coordinates the volunteer team and sets up all equipment, canopies, computers, sound equipment, bleachers, tables, chairs, scoreboard, diving board, etc. Morning Shift
- Meet Tear Down Coordinator (Home Meets Only) Job begins as soon as the last event ends. Checks-in your tear-down team.. Coordinates the volunteer team to pack up equipment, canopies, computers, bleachers, tables, chairs, scoreboard, diving board, sweeps deck, picks up trash, etc. Ensures pool area is free of trash, bathrooms are clean & stocked. Before leaving check in with Cabana Club office. Training session during Intrasquads. Afternoon Shift
- Security (Home Meets Only) Continuously walks deck to ensure a safe environment. (No Sitting) In charge of the safety of all swimmers which includes no roughhousing, no fighting, no running, etc. Reminds everyone that photography is not allowed behind the starting blocks. Keeps bikes, scooters, and skateboards off the deck. 2 shifts
- Set-Up (Home Meets Only) Arrive at 6 AM. Check-in with the Set-Up Coordinator. Help set up all equipment, canopies, computers, bleachers, tables, chairs, scoreboard, diving board, etc. Morning Shift
- Snack Bar (Home Meets Only) Assist in preparing and selling food, including setting up or taking down depending on shift. Sorry, no children are allowed to help or be in the Snack Bar. 18 and Over Job Only.
- Swimmer Check-In (Home & Away) Check in swimmers and write last name on their hands. Morning Shift
- Tear-Down (Home Meets Only) Job starts when the last event ends. Check-In with Tear-Down Coordinator. Packs up equipment, canopies, computers, bleachers, tables, chairs, scoreboard, diving board, sweeps deck, picks up trash, etc. Ensures the deck and parking lot are clean. Check out with Club House Office. Afternoon Shift
- Volunteer Check-In (Home & Away) Check-in volunteers. Make sure they understand their duties. Let the Meet Coordinator know if anyone is late or a no-show. Morning Shift
- Volunteer/Swimmer Late Check-In (Home & Away) Stays at Penguins Pop-Up Tent to check in any late arrivals. 9:30AM-2PM
